MAKE MESSAGES MATTER

DMs aren't just for chit chatting, they're one of your strongest tools for making money on Fansly. You can use them to sell custom content, mass promos, automate welcome messages and so much more. Every message is an opportunity, so let's talk strategy.

DIRECT MESSAGES

Direct messages work just like you’d expect: you can send locked text, media bundles, voice recordings, and GIFs. To control who can message you, head to Settings > Messaging Permissions and set the rules.

You can require a subscription, a tip per message, or even a total spend before someone can DM you.

Inside a conversation, tap the three dots in the top-right corner to manage that user. You can add them to a list, VIP them so they appear in a separate inbox, view how much they’ve spent on you, see what content you've sent them, or leave yourself a private note with their name, interests, or custom details.

PRO TIP

IF YOU'VE GOT HIGH-VALUE FANS, MAKE SURE THEY'RE NOT LOST IN YOUR INBOX. YOU CAN GIVE ANY USER VIP STATUS BY TAPPING THE THREE DOTS ON THEIR PROFILE OR IN THEIR CHAT AND SELECTING 'VIP USER'.

Once VIP'd, their messages appear in a dedicated VIP inbox tab, making it easier to prioritize your biggest supporters. These fans are often the ones tipping big or buying often, so showing them a little extra attention goes a long way.

MASS MESSAGES

Mass messages let you hit large groups of users in one go. This could be your entire follower base, a list of buyers, or just your active subs. To send one, go to Messages > Compose > Mass Message, then choose your filters, upload your media, write your message, and hit send. You can schedule messages for later or keep it real-time.

To check performance, head to the Broadcast Message Stats tab in your inbox. Here, you’ll find stats like open rates and total money earned.

AUTOMATED MESSAGES

Automated messages are another strong tool that lets you stay present without being online 24/7. Go to Creator Dashboard > Automated Messages > Create New Automated Message to set one up.

Choose your trigger—like a new subscriber, follower, or someone sending a tip. Then set a delay and cooldown, and write your message.

You can attach media or locked text to upsell or guide users toward your menu. Automated messages can also be keyword-triggered, so when a fan tips and types something like “feet pics,” they’ll get a response automatically with details and pricing. It’s a smart way to handle FAQs or custom requests without constantly repeating yourself!

PRO TIP

FANS CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MASS MESSAGE, AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE, OR A PERSONAL DM. THEY ALL SHOW UP THE SAME WAY. THAT MEANS YOU CAN WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER. ROTATE STRATEGIES, REUSE HIGH-PERFORMING MEDIA FROM YOUR VAULT, AND KEEP YOUR ENGAGEMENT FLOWING WITHOUT FEELING BURNT OUT.
